In his own words, "I came into the world in Normal, Illinois (which ever remains a paradox) just after my three older siblings got a head start on me. Both my brothers are successful lawyers, my sister a successful mother, and I...well, I am the model of 'still striving.' I have loved life, creation, awareness, and love itself since the cradle and these often surface in my music. In my teens, I was heavily influenced by both Rachmaninoff and Jon Schmidt, which influence spun me into a fusion that finally met its match when Coldplay came on the scene. I will always be influenced by those who simply strive to tell the truth when they write. Dogs, open land, kids, and music are dreams I intend to flood my future with. I love my new wife, Stephanie- we live unfailingly here in Provo, UT."
Dan's musical involvement began long before he wrote Bells Will Ring. In 1990 he was involved in a University of Illinois Theater production of The King and I. He later participated in classical piano recitals throughout CA, IL, and UT (1995- 2003) as well as taking a vocalist role in BYU's Vocal Point performing with them in IL, UT, AZ, CA, Washington D.C., ID, and Wyoming (2002-2005). He has enjoyed reworking this song for the album Sorry I Stole the Sun. Some of the other songs he has recorded are: Something Wrong, Something Right (2003), Free (2004), and The Perfect Sarah (2006).
"Singer/songwriter, and BYU music grad, April Meservy, enjoys sharing her passion for music. Exposed to songs from all over the world at a very young age, April found herself captivated with music and began singing and creating songs of her own. Little did she know, she would later have opportunities to share her voice in numerous places, including invitations to perform in China and at Olympic Square during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. April continues to return to her hometown of Reno where she enjoys playing with her band of six years. Diverse in style, her vocals can be found on recordings ranging from jazz/blues to pop/rock, from contemporary gospel to classical. Her work has recently been honored with three Pearl awards from the FCMA. April is currently working on Harvest of Change, a debut album inspired by the path her life has taken - in some ways unexpected." For more on April's music visit her website www.aprilmeservy.com
"Tony Rahlf was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and raised in the beautiful greens of the Cincinnati suburbs. The son of two Montana cattle ranchers, he was raised on the principles of hard work and hard play. He tried his best to be a renaissance man during grade school, participating in varsity football, jazz band, theater, and the school newspaper. Tony's first musical influence was his father, who played many standard cowboy songs for him on an old six string. Tony picked up the guitar at age 11, trying to imitate his dad's music. At age 14, Tony's life was changed when he heard Stevie Ray Vaughan for the first time, and he was converted to the blues. Saving all his summer change, he went to the pawn shop and bought his first electric guitar for $100. His life was changed forever. Tony made the junior high jazz band, and broadened his influences. He began taking lessons under Steve Irwin (from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, not the Crocodile Hunter), refining, in his own words, his 'rather sloppy but dedicated skills.' While in high school, Tony played in the jazz band as well as many other garage bands like "Helmut's House of Blues and Sauerkraut" and "Men Swallowing Chainsaws." Tony furthered his musical pursuits at Brigham Young University, taking three semesters of Music Theory and studying under Lawrence Green, one of the most talented guitarists on the Wasatch Front. Although he is majoring in German, he always makes time for his guitars. Tony is married to the beautiful Melanie Rahlf and is expecting his first child in May of 2006. His current musical influences are: Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Rush, Pat Metheny, Kevin Eubanks, Frank Zappa, Mathias Eklundh, Ron Thal, Joe Satriani, Bela Fleck, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Brad Paisley, Frank Gambale, and his freshman roomate, Dallin Morrow."
